A trip into town followed a nice lie-in. I grabbed some cash and phone credit. Also stopped by the butchers for some biltong; small bits of old dried meat that is apparently a delicacy out here. It was alright but I gave up after a while - pork scratchings are far better!

I've finally had it confirmed that the flight back is on the 26th. Got a print out from Ops today too; I've flown thirty-five-point-four hours so far, leaving only fourteen-point-six hours to fly. I may end up finishing all of my hours before/just after beginning week eight!

Had a slot with Daniel, but it was cancelled because the air was very turbulent and not much would be achieved. Instead we began planning a navigational exercise for tomorrow. After he jogged my memory from GS on the subject I sat in the sun with Ben and did the calculations. The sad part is that only half can be done without knowing the weather. So I have to get to Ops for 06:00 tomorrow to find out the Wx, and then finish off the planning before taking off at 09:30.

Rich,

You had a lie in so now it's time to get up early - swings and roundabouts!! Seriously, though, here's hoping you get all your hours in. Any chance of visiting Rorke's Drift before you return?

Best wishes,

Dudley and Brenda.
