Leg was hurting like hell today. After clumsily getting sorted out and passing the time, I found that my headset has gone missing. Regardless, I went to Ross and Echo-Kilo-Echo for our navigational exercise. Something wasn't right with the aircraft; the nose sat too low and the propeller was far too close to the ground. We turned the aircraft around and parked it straight at the
AMO before returning to Ops to find that Echo-Echo-Golf was to shortly become
available. I waited for Ben and his instructor, Christie, to finish their bits and pieces before
pre-
flighting it and soon enough me and Ross were thundering down the runway.
Because of the time lost, the planned
nav was unachievable. Instead we spent about an hour in the
GF doing tight turns, climbs/descents and other stuff that I am fairly proficient on, before returning to
FAPA for a few circuits. The air in the circuit was very bumpy but manageable.
The evening soon drew in and we did our very best in giving Rae a great send-off. Five weeks isn't much, but when interacting with someone on an intensive daily basis, it is hard to accept that such relationships must end sometimes. I'm waking up at 05:30 to see her off tomorrow... no better reason to finish typing here!
