My commitment to an ATC camp upon my return appears to have fallen away. I don't have all of the details, but apparently the event has been cancelled. This allows me to stay an extra week. I have enquired about the accommodation cost for staying; in order to fly more of the allotted hours. Ben, who had delayed his flight from day one, and I had a short meeting with Frik Schoomby. He told us that he is going to help us out with the accommodation costs. We chatted some more about the experience so far, and how the medical mess up can be avoided in future, before leaving for dinner.
Unfortunately BA have responded to my enquiry about delaying the flight with a negative result. There are no available seats for transfer, indeed the first available transfer seat is on the 26th of August. A new flight departing on the 16th costs £1011, so my options are looking slim. Something may still be possible, I'll ponder on it tomorrow.

Hi Rich,
Is it nearly time to come back already? I'll avoid the obvious comment about time.........
Good old BA, never there when you need them. Ponder on, though, maybe something will turn up.
Best wishes,
Dudley and Brenda.
Hi Rich, Steve, Paul & Ben
I was thinking about you all today while circuit-bashing here in grey, showery North Yorkshire. Lucky sods!
Doing my first solo flight away from the circuit tomorrow, weather permitting, just around the local area. N. Yorks is full of RAF fast jets, so I tend to stay above 1,000ft as they are almost all at low level. Had a close encounter with a civvie glider the other day though.
Wish there was something I could do to help you guys out with the SPLs so you could go solo. Your flying is probably at a better standard than mine with all this practice, so it doesn't seem fair you can't solo! Don't give up on it when you get home - first solo is a really motivating experience that will spur you on to your PPL.
Rich - it might be worth asking FSD if Keith Bayliss, the FSD Trustee and 747 pilot from BA, can pull any strings regarding your return flight.
Best wishes
Gareth
